I am writing to you who are God’s children because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus.” 1 John 2:12 NLT
“...your sins have been forgiven through Jesus.”” WOW!!!!!!! Did you get that??? Ponder that statement for a moment! Priceless!! None of us deserve it!! We all are unworthy, yet our Lord Jesus took upon Himself the iniquity of us all. “All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” Isaiah 53:6 NLT “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” Colossians 1:13-14 KJV “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.” Ephesians 1:7 NLT “For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” Romans 3:25-26 NLT This reality is far too great for my mind to comprehend, yet it is a reality. How can I know it’s certainty? God’s Word says so!!! That’s enough for me! That’s enough for you! This gift of righteousness is beyond words. One day, when we are before Him, and we see Him face to face, we will bow in humble, eternal gratitude to the One who has forgiven us! Even now, as I compose this devotional, my soul stands in absolute awe at this reality. I am overwhelmed! Today, if you have been to the fountain and have been washed in it’s cleansing flow, take this moment to think about it. Bow your head in humility and thank Him for His unmerited mercy and grace. He alone is worthy!!!!!!! Perhaps you have not been to that fountain. He stands, in divine patience, and waits for you to come. You are invited! Let Him plunge you beneath that flood and lose all of your guilty stains. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Shout children of God! You are redeemed!!
