“How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory. For you have given him his heart’s desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. Interlude You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head. He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever. Your victory brings him great honor, and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty. You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling. You will capture all your enemies. Your strong right hand will seize all who hate you. You will throw them in a flaming furnace when you appear. The Lord will consume them in his anger; fire will devour them. You will wipe their children from the face of the earth; they will never have descendants. Although they plot against you, their evil schemes will never succeed. For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them. Rise up, O Lord, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.”
Psalms 21:1-13 NLT David rejoiced when victory was granted! He had faced challenges and had come through them by the delivering hand of Almighty God. He, rightfully, praised God for the victory. He knew that God had kept him safe and had restored the order of his kingdom. David was a man who had faltered in his personal life but his heart was after God. Even when he had fallen into sin, God’s mercy reached down to him and lifted him out of the pit and set his feet upon solid ground. Does this sound like you? We all have our challenges and we need the merciful hand of God to reach into our mess, pull us up out of the mire, and set us on solid ground. I don’t know about you, but I have been sinking in the quicksand of life and I felt the fear that grips you when you are being pulled down to, what seems to be, inevitable defeat. Just in time, God rescued me and gave me victory. I praise His Holy Name!!! Ultimately, the day is coming when all of the ungodly will be wiped from the face of the earth and life will be restored to its original intent. There will be no more Satan, sin, sickness, suffering, or sorrow. Look up child of God! Redemption is ours in Jesus! We are the eternal children of Almighty God. Our lives are in His hands. The best is yet to come. Take heart and rejoice in the victory that is ours in Jesus! Victory does not come from our ability, it comes from God! Cry out to Him and trust your life into His hands. Rest in Him and know that He sees your challenges. He has brought you this far. He will carry You home! “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57 NLT Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, I praise You for the victory You give me in Your Son, Jesus! No matter what I face, You are with me! Help me to realize that I’m not fighting for victory but, rather, with victory. You are my strong defender!
