“Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord. So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!”
Psalms 32:10-11 NLT Unfailing love surrounds those who trust in the Lord! Isn't this great to know!! The wicked may flourish for a moment, but their bloom soon wilts and fades. The flower of their life is only a temporary beauty that dries up and perishes. “Don’t fret because of evildoers; don’t envy the wicked. For evil people have no future; the light of the wicked will be snuffed out.” Proverbs 24:19-20 NLT As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we must not allow ourselves to compare our mortal existence to those who appear to have the best that life can offer. The things of this world are corruptible and won't last. Our true value is in Who we belong to! He owns it all!!! He has promised us eternal life and all the blessings of living in His presence forever. “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” Psalms 16:11 NLT “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” Romans 8:15-17 NLT As heirs of God, we should identify ourselves only by our relationship with Him. Knowing Him is the richest thing we mortals can experience. In Him we are transformed into immortals. “It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.” 1 Corinthians 15:52-53 NLT Brothers and sisters, we already have everything! Let's stop trying to acquire worldly things as though we can hold onto them forever. Let's lay hold to that which can never fade! “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:19-21 NLT “Then he said, “Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”” Luke 12:15 NLT “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19 NLT You may feel poor, but you are rich. You may feel weak, but you are strong. You may feel like a nobody, but you are adopted into the Kings family. You are somebody!
