“I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O Lord, well know. I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. I have told everyone in the great assembly of your unfailing love and faithfulness.” Psalms 40:9-10 NLT
David testified of God's righteousness. The word "justice" is used in some translations because it means "just behavior or treatment". The theological term of "Justification" is the idea of being declared righteous. Righteousness and Justice are the same coin. Justice can't be rendered without righteousness. Righteousness is the basis of true justice. David had experienced this characteristic of God in his life, recognized that it was the very nature of God, and responded with verbal praise. He couldn't be silent about God's holy acts. He testified among the congregation of the Jewish people. Have you recognized the righteous hand of God at work in your life and in the world around you? If so, have you properly responded with praise and adoration? Have you testified before the congregation of the saints? Have you shared with others the holiness and goodness of God? Today, take the time to intentionally tell someone of God's righteousness. He is Holy, Just, and True! Only in Him can we have justice in our world! Without Him, we are doomed to disaster. Let's proclaim His righteousness to the nations! Instead of speaking of negative, cultural ills of today, speak the greatness and goodness of God! Put on the garment of praise instead of the cloak of criticism. Let this day be filled with His praises! When we praise Him, His righteous justice will be dispatched on our behalf. Like the children of Israel who marched around the fortified city of Jericho in Joshua 6, the shout of praise made the walls come tumbling down. God had given them the city. Jericho is the oldest fortified city, to date, that has been discovered by archaeologists. As God's children, we don't need man to verify any of God's Word because we believe it is true!!! However, for the skeptic who wants to know the historical validity of this story, there is an answer. The events of Joshua 6 have been authenticated as more than just a story. God's Word is True!!!!!!! Saints of God, let us march in rank, united in Jesus Christ the Lord, and let's shout the greatness of our God to this world around us. Let's invite God's righteous justice to overcome the walls of the enemy and give us the city. Let's stop fighting for victory and let's start fighting with victory. "...If God be for us, who can be against us" (Romans 8:31) KJV
