So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.” 1 Peter 4:19 NLT
If we are walking with Christ, no matter what the circumstances may be, we can trust God! Romans 8:28 says “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” NLT In Matthew 28:20b Jesus said "And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” NLT Hebrews 13:5 states “Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”” Hebrews 13:5 NLT Jesus never fails!!! The best place any of us can be is in His will. When we walk with Jesus we can rest assured that God is with us, that we are going in the right direction, and everything is well. When we are facing difficulties in this life, because of our faith in Jesus, we can rest in His love. We can know His joy in the midst of the circumstances. We can experience His peace. There is no better place to be. Just last week my middle son Joseph, my youngest son Johnathon, a church member named Larry, and others from various places, were in Haiti on a mission to do medical and housing projects. Hurricane Irma was roaring directly to the east in the Atlantic with size and strength that matched or exceeded the strongest hurricane in Atlantic history. The possibility loomed that it would make a direct hit on the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and then the Dominican Republic and Haiti. I received text messages, phone calls, and had others ask me in person about the situation. My sons and I had spoken by FaceTime on Tuesday and they asked me what they should do - leave the island on an early flight, or stay. I told them that I believed God had them in His hands, they were there in His will, and that I trusted Him. I told them to finish what God sent them there to do. I trusted my Father with His children!! I even told several people that I'd rather my boys be in the midst of a hurricane with Jesus than to be outside of one without Him. I meant it! Had God decided to allow the hurricane to pass over the island, I was at total peace that they were in the safest and best hands. I knew that God loved them more than I ever could and even if they endured the horror of such a storm, or even die, they were in His hands. That is the peace that only Jesus can give!!! I can report that they finished out the week, everyone is home, and everything is well!! Today, I want to say out loud: "JESUS, I LOVE YOU AND I TRUST YOU!!!" No matter what, I encourage all of you to do the same today!!
