“then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties, whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord.” 2 Peter 2:9-11 NASB
God can, and will, deliver the godly from temptation when they choose to trust Him and do the right thing. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones, Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be condemned. The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.” Psalms 34:19-22 NASB “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12 NASB Those who are rebellious toward God, and have the audacity to defy Him, stand in a most dangerous and destructive place. Judgment will come to the wicked! Anyone who is so audacious that they speak contemptuously against, and about the spiritual realm, can be assured of definite and final consequences. The spiritual warfare of angels and demons is real and should not be trifled with. Only Jesus, and those submitted to His Name and Lordship, have the authority to deal in heavenly matters. Consider this: Satan, who was once among the heavenly host, was cast out of heaven and remains under eternal damnation because of his rebellion. Who are we to think we will get by with our acts of defiance?
