True Riches

“This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

The apostle Paul references this passage of Scripture in 1 Corinthians 1:31.
“Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”

What do you consider most important in life? Wisdom? Knowledge? Money? Power? The list is endless!
The only thing in life that's worth truly boasting about is the Lord Jesus Christ! Everything else is irrelevant without Him. True wisdom and knowledge comes from Him!
“I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

All power is vested in Jesus!
“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.”

“Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.”

True riches come from Him!
Money is God's greatest competitor in this fallen world.
Jesus spoke about this in the "Sermon On The Mount" in Matthew Chapter 6.
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”

Jesus Christ is the only thing worth boasting about!
