What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance. Psalms 33:12
The wicked are crushed by disaster, but the godly have a refuge when they die. Proverbs 14:32 The wicked will go down to the grave. This is the fate of all the nations who ignore God. Psalms 9:17 NLT Happy 4th of July May we remember this: America is our home in this temporary world. God's great grace has allowed us to live here. Let us thank Him for this privilege. America is only one of hundreds of nations around the world. God loves them all. May we pray for each of them because many of them have citizens that do not know the blessings we so enjoy. America isn't God's favorite, we have been graciously given His favor in our history. We are now on the verge of judgment because of our gross sin. We must repent. I love America as my temporary earthly home but I know where my eternal citizenship lies. Through Jesus Christ, I am a citizen of Heaven. I am a green card carrying citizen of that eternal home. Today, let's celebrate our natural freedom. However, May we know, with absolute certainty, that true freedom is in Jesus. Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6 NLT And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32 NLT So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. John 8:36 NLT Would you join me in this prayer and proclamation? Father, in Jesus name, thank you for this great country in which You have graciously allowed me to live. It is Your hand that has granted us such blessings. However, we have turned from you and your ways. We stand in dire need of restoration. Forgive our multiple and grievous sins and heal our land. Purge me of my sins and help me be a part of the solution, not the problem. Please grant your continued mercy! We do not deserve it, but we humbly beg this of you. Lord, thank you for this nation. Help me live as a godly citizen of it. In Jesus name! Here is my first and foremost pledge of allegiance: I pledge allegiance to the Lord Jesus, the Savior of my life and all who receive Him! He is the Lord of all nations! His kingdom come! His will be done! I pray this here on earth as it is in heaven. My allegiance to America comes under the hand of God, the One who gave us the earth and nations! Lord, thank you for this nation and for those who served to help us enjoy the things we do from day to day. Help me live as a godly citizen of it. To the glory of the One and only matchless Savior, Jesus, I ask!
