“It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, a harp, and the melody of a lyre. You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done. O Lord, what great works you do! And how deep are your thoughts. Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this:” Psalms 92:1-6 NLT
Have you vocally expressed your thankfulness to God? Have you taken the time to recognize all of the things you have to be thankful for? The number of things that God has done for you far exceed the struggles that Satan and your sin have caused. Salvation through Jesus Christ, the heartbeat in your chest, the air you breathe, the eyes you see with, the ears you hear with, the tongue you talk with, the teeth you eat with, the feet you walk with, the arms you work with, the life you live, and all of the grandeur of creation. The list goes on!! Stop dwelling on the adversities and embrace the blessings. Take the time to exercise an attitude of gratitude. Gratitude will take you to a higher altitude and lift you out of the pit of despair. God has given you a new day. His love has granted you another chance, another opportunity! His faithfulness has carried you here to the present. The psalmist proclaims our need to be thankful. Thanksgiving is recognizing God for what He has done. I challenge you to do just that today. Take the time to vocalize the specific things you are thankful for. Get out of grumble ghetto and move to thankful avenue! The neighborhood is much more beautiful.
