“Don’t let the proud trample me or the wicked push me around. Look! Those who do evil have fallen! They are thrown down, never to rise again.” Psalms 36:11-12 NLT
David knew the weariness of being caught in the midst of adversity. In the fray of the battle we can feel outnumbered and surrounded by our enemies. Their jeers can mentally cast us down and their bullying can take its toll on our spirit. Our strength becomes weak and our resolve is questioned. There are days like that for all of us. Some days are easier than others, but those dark, dreary, discouraging days can set in like the darkness at end of day. In our souls we struggle to find stability and to regain our focus. Relentlessly, the enemy keeps pursuing us. He launches his missiles of propaganda into our camp and tries to defeat us with his tactics. In these moments, like David, we must cry out to God for His intervention. Our victory rests in our ability to trust God with the outcome. We must not allow the propaganda around us to influence our faith. Our faith must be like Patriot missiles that intercept Satan's incoming missiles of discouragement. God is with us and will always deliver His children from the oppression of their adversaries. We must remember that victory is ours. The enemy is fighting a losing battle. He cannot, and will not, win!! Jesus has defeated him!! One day, the war will be over and we will be called home from our current deployment. Stay focused dear brothers and sisters. The last trumpet will soon sound and our enemies will be defeated, never to rise again.
