But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.” Jude 1:17-19 NLT
Apostate teachers have always lurked in the shadows, waiting for the right time to invade the ranks of the church and rise to a place of influence. Satan, being the master deceiver he is, strategically plots his plan of disruption and division. He knows that the only way to stop the work of the church is to twist the truth. Twisted, evil minds are a product of Satan himself. Jesus bluntly said this: “For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44 NLT False teachers thrive by speaking things that are appealing and attractive. Often, their false teaching is mixed in the bowl along with some truth. This creates partial truth. Partial truth is still an outright lie. All the way back to Genesis 3:1, Satan has tried to twist the truth in order to deceive. Only the truth sets us free. Jesus said this: "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”” John 8:32 NLT Prior to Jesus crucifixion, Pilate asked Jesus a question. “Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” “What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime.” John 18:37-38 NLT The truth stared Pilate in the face and yet he chose the popularity of the people and the political approval of the Roman Emperor over the truth. Today, many people want to attend religious services where they can be entertained, made to feel comfortable, and hear a message that tickles their ears. We are playing instead of praying, feasting instead of fasting, and entertaining instead of interceding. We want to go to heaven when we die yet live like we belong to hell. We demand preachers to be "tolerant" rather than truthful. This is a stench in the nostrils for God. What we need is an awakening! The truth is sobering! May God wake us up with the truth. Jesus is the absolute truth! He is truth personified!!! It is the truth that we need more than anything. He has given us His Word. Let's preach it loud, long, and strong! Let us fight for, and stand with, the truth!!
