Now I know that the Lord rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from his holy heaven and rescue him by his great power. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm. Give victory to our king, O Lord! Answer our cry for help.”
Psalms 20:6-9 NLT God will always deliver His anointed ones from their opponents. Until their work on this earth is fulfilled, He will bring them through their circumstances victorious. No power on earth, or in Hell itself, will thwart the purposes of God! Whom He sets up, He defends. David, the king of Israel, was in that very situation. He fled the threats of king Saul in I Samuel and faced rebellion from his son, Absalom, in 2 Samuel. Absalom had rebelled against him and had threatened his throne. Many had joined the cause of Absalom and David had to deal with the uprising. He loved his son and, yet, hated the circumstances. Absalom died in the conflict and it broke David's heart. David had only longed for unity between he and his son as well as God's peace in the nation. Instead, a war had taken place. David was a man after God's own heart (see Acts 13:22). Although David has committed adultery and even murder (see 2 Samuel 11), God used him to fulfill His will in his day (see Acts 13:36). Today, even at this moment, we face a historic crossroads with our current president and the confirmation process of his Supreme Court selection, Judge Brett Kavanaugh. There is civil war going on in our own nation over its direction. Will it cave to the progressive, evolutionary, humanistic, godless society that the left wants or will it sway back to the right. The forces of hell have launched a most vicious attack and the enemy gloats as we await the outcome. We prayed for God to give us a president that would appoint conservative justices to the bench. He answered with granting us that very thing. This is our time in history. Will we cower to the politically correct pressure or will we stand upon righteousness? Regardless of our political affiliations, we must ALL repent of our own personal, corporate, and national sins. We must cry out to God and ask Him to give us what He wants. Only He can see through all of this political fog and navigate us to clearer days. We must pray, diligently, that God would spare our nation the brutal horrors that lie ahead if we follow the ways of wickedness. The Supreme Court has inflicted grievous sins upon our nation over the last 50-60 years. In 1962, in the Engel vs. Vitale case, they expelled God from the classroom in public schools. In 1973, in the Roe vs. Wade case, they forced abortion on demand upon our nation, murdering 50-60 million innocent lives thus far. We have blood on our hands!! In 2015, in the Obergefell vs. Hodges case, the Supreme Court ruled that same sex marriage be imposed upon all states. Congress didn't approve these. The President didn't either, with the exception of Barack Obama's agreement with the 2015 decision. However, the Supreme Court placed these laws upon us. The balance of power has not played out the way it was intended. The Supreme Court has gotten out of control! Since then, other rulings have come that have favored wickedness rather than righteousness. The confirmation of a conservative, pro life, pro marriage, constitutionalist justice would, perhaps, place a fatal blow to the onslaught of Satan's agenda for our nation and our children's future. If we can't see what's happening, then we are blind!! We must plead with God to grant us His victory and place men in authority that will honor Him and His Word!! Only God's anointed will have His favor. I can hear some of you saying, "well, the president has his faults and Judge Kavanaugh is accused of sexual assault". I understand your concerns! We must remember that God sets up whom He will and takes down whom He will. We must pray for our President rather than attack him and make jokes about him. We must pray for Judge Kavanaugh and his family as well. Can you imagine what they have gone though? I am not advocating any kind of assault on anyone and it should not become acceptable in any form. I am simply stating the reality that the left and its media are on a mission. To destroy anyone that would threaten their chance at the Supreme Court. Where were they when this man was on the rise through the courts to this point? Why now? Something that is "supposed" to have happened decades ago is now brought out of the closet and used against this man. Even when Barrack Obama was in office, I told our congregation that I didn't want to hear jokes about our President. Why? Because God expects us to respect authority and pray for them, even if we aren't particularly in favor of their personal or political agendas (see Romans 13:1-7; I Timothy 2:1-3; and I Peter 2:13-17). Let's not stick our heads in the sand on this one. There is, indeed, a spiritual war taking place, before or eyes, over our nation. Saints of God, pray, engage the culture, and vote. Our midterm elections are coming up in November. This is a crucial election. God has given us, as Americans, and especially as Christian Americans, the opportunity to be involved in our own destiny as a nation. Will we sit idly by while evil tries to prevail or will we stand up and be counted? God is looking for those whose hearts are after Him!! Is your heart His or is it satisfied to be comfortable rather than consecrated? May God bless President Donald Trump with His heart and grant Him direction in all of his decisions. May God grant His will in the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh! God knows what is right. The media wants us to believe its propaganda. Lets's take a moment here to simply place things in the hands of our Capable, Righteous King. His name is Jesus!!! Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, You alone know all the details of what is going on in our nation. We pray for you to bless our President, Donald Trump, and his administration. We ask that You would silence the mouths of the wicked. Clear the clouds of evil that loom over us and help us to see the truth clearly. We beg of You to raise up those who will honor You and bring down those who don't. Place men of God upon the Supreme Court. Place men of God in Congress. Only then will we have a balance of power that is righteous. You have given us our beloved land and only through You will we continue to enjoy its freedom and posterity.
