If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows.”
Psalms 7:12-13 NLT God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. “As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?” Ezekiel 33:11 NLT He will bring judgment upon the wicked because He is Holy and Righteous. Wickedness cannot live in the presence of God. The only remedy is repentance. Repentance is a diametric change. When true repentance occurs there is an obvious transformation of direction. Godly sorrow brings genuine repentance. Repentance is always accompanied by guilt, remorse, and even shame. “Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.” 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 NLT The wicked are rushing headlong into the wrath of God! We must never forget the absolute righteousness of Almighty God. His holiness demands righteousness. The only righteousness we can have is received, not achieved. This righteousness is found in Jesus Christ. When we receive Him as our Lord and Savior, we receive the gift of eternal life. There will be a day of reckoning for the wicked who refuse to repent and receive Jesus! The nature of evil cannot co-exist with God. This is why there must be a time of accountability for all. In His mercy, God shouts at us to come out of our darkness and into the light. He has provided the remedy. He leaves the choice to us. If we die lost and undone, it will be our own choice. I beg of you today, repent of your sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ. Why die when you can live? Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, I repent of my sin and humbly ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse me from my wickedness and prepare me as a sanctuary for You! Change my heart and make it like Yours! I ask this in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ
