“I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.”
Psalms 17:6 NLT David prayed because he knew God was real. He knew God was available and accessible. He knew that God would answer his cry for help. Praying is an act of humility. In prayer we acknowledge the reality of God's existence (His person - our Father). In prayer we acknowledge the reality of His power. In prayer we acknowledge the reality of His personal care. We see all of these things in the prayer Jesus taught us In Matthew 6:9-13 (Called "The Lord's Prayer"). God is always there, waiting for us to come to Him. He wants us to dine with Him in prayer. There we find the nourishment our souls so desperately need. Like David, let us call out to God in prayer because we know He is there and that He is listening! “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16 NLT Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, thank you for always being there. Forgive me of any sin that has affected my fellowship with You. Help me walk with You today and help me rest in Your unfailing love. Your faithfulness has kept me from sure destruction. You are with me now. Hear my cry for Your continued care. I trust my life into Your hands.
