“Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.”
Psalms 33:1-3 NLT God's children should sing songs of praise to God unending! We should play instruments in glory to Him! His worthiness is beyond description! He alone is worthy of our praise! No one else qualifies. Our words and the conduct of our lives should exclaim the glory of the One True God! Like a living, breathing instrument we should play out a melody, pure and sweet, to the lover of our souls. As a symphony and an orchestra of praise, the body of Christ should harmonize in majestic declaration of our God! “Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalms 100:1-5 NLT If anyone, or anything, deserves a shout, it is Jesus! I have watched bare chested men paint their football team colors on their body and yell at the top of their lungs to cheer on their team. I've seen concert attendees go crazy over another mortal as they performed on a stage. Often I have shaken my head at the way we conduct ourselves. Sure, we should enjoy the things that God has given us. However, when we get excited about the things that aren't eternal and we seem to be bored with the things that are eternal, our whole perspective is wrong. If I'm gonna sing, it will be the praises of the King, not the indecent lyrics of corrupt minds. If I'm gonna shout, it will be for something that really matters. “Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!” Psalms 150:1-6 NLT Jesus really matters!!! Do you have breath?? I challenge you to sing and shout to Him today!
