“I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help. For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.”
Psalms 56:12-13 NLT When God gives us victory and extends His merciful kindness in our lives, we should respond with obedience. God is not a vending machine that should be used in a moment of craving. He isn't a spare tire to be used when we have a flat. God is our Father!!! He is the very source of our existence and should, therefore, be the very nucleus of our lives. Many people cry out to God in times of despair and distress. There is certainly nothing wrong with turning to God in our times of difficulty. However, when we resort back to our old ways when the dust settles, we, in all honesty, simply used God! God wants a fluent, healthy, hearty relationship with us. God is the epicenter of life itself. We may think we are living life but, without God as the center and foundation, we are merely existing. Many people never develop deep roots in Christ or allow an intimate relationship with Him to develop. Many are wrapped up in their own little world and view Jesus as the One they call on when they need "saving". Let's be abundantly clear here: Only Jesus can save us (salvation)!!!Amen! The kind of saving I'm speaking of is a "get me out of trouble" syndrome. God wants to be honored as our Father, not the loan shark who helps us out when we are in a bind. God deserves our best. He deserves our lives. Are you one of those people who takes advantage of His mercy and grace or are you someone who is humbly grateful and submitted to Him as your Lord? Give God what He deserves: YOUR LIFE!! Stop taking Him for granted and start serving Him with all you have. No one else, and no thing, is as worthy of your life. “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” Romans 12:1 NLT Is your idea of worship attending a church service? You should attend church. However, the purest form of worship is a life submitted to the One who saved you. Don't just give lip service to God. Give Him your seconds, your minutes, your hours, your days, your weeks, your months, your years, your eternity! Only Jesus!!!
