“I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?”
Psalms 42:2 NLT Do you ever long for the day when you will see God face to face? When you love someone you want to see them and spend time with them. When you are away from them you long to go where they are. After a long day at work, what a relief to be able to go home to the one you love and who loves you. There we find rest. There we belong! In this world we live, as children of God, we so often feel out of place and we long to go home to be with the One we love and the One who loves us. Our souls long for the rest and refreshment that come from being in His presence. The artificial, corruptible things that try to satisfy us leave us longing yet the more. What we need is something real. Something far beyond this veil of tears. We need the love that comes from the lover of our souls. This love is deep, wide, high, and long. This love is everlasting. “Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” Jeremiah 31:3 NLT When you experience the love of God, no other love can compare. Nothing else can satisfy. One moment in His presence is better than a thousand elsewhere. “A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.” Psalms 84:10 NLT Just as verse three of an an old hymn says "Just one glimpse of Him in glory will the toils of life repay". (When We All Get To Heaven - E. E. Hewitt - 1898). Revelation 22:3-5 says: “No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:3-5 NLT
