“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.”
Psalms 40:1-2 NLT David testified of God's deliverance. He waited for the Lord to bring deliverance and his patience was rewarded. Are you in a pit of despair? Are you sinking in quick sand and wonder if God will rescue you before you sink below the mire? Patiently wait for Him. He will not fail you. He has proved Himself faithful through all generations. He will be faithful to you now. Look to the Lord and fix your gaze upon Him. Let the constancy of His character give you the assurance that everything is in His capable hands. Listen to the lyric of on old song written by Helen Howarth Lemmel: "Turn you eyes upon Jesus Look full in His wonderful face And the things of earth will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace." Rather than fixing your focus on the uncertainty of the situation around you, look up to God! Don't look down at the sinking sand beneath you. Don't look around at the unstable circumstances of life. Don't look back at where you came from. Look up to God! There you will find help! Cry out to Him and wait for His deliverance. Help is on the way! Simply wait for the arrival. He will be there right on time!
