“Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives. Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God. But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. Psalms 68:1-3 NLT
Do you ever feel the weight of the ungodliness around you? Do you ever anguish over it? Do you feel vexed by the utter disregard for righteousness? There seems to be so few today that have deep convictions and who desire to live consecrated lives. Our culture seems bent on selfish pursuit at any cost. Our days are filled with darting and dashing about. We are caught in a rat race that is leading us right to the gates of Hell. Although we are busy doing what we think we must accomplish, we are being pied piped by the enemy, Satan, into his lair. Little do we realize that life is fast disappearing and death stalks us like a night prowler. Satan prowls around us like a lion seeking to pounce on it's prey. “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 NLT Our focus should not be on our own agendas. Our time here is short and we must hone in on the eternal, not the temporary. The ungodly are currently experiencing the only heaven they will ever know. Their lives will one day end. The judgment of God will one day fall on all who have rejected Him. The godly are preserved by God for eternity. Living for God gives confidence in the present and certainty of the future. Our joy is full and unending. We should not let the circumstances around us discourage us. Though our current culture is not godly we who are God's redeemed can rest assured that God and His children will be vindicated. Hold on to the truth! Righteousness always prevails!! In Jesus Christ, we win!
