“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT Take the time today to consider how you are living. A few questions to consider: Who is God and what is He like? Who are you and why are you here? Life is created by God (see Genesis 1:1 and a John 1:1-5)! He is the author of life itself. Life without God is an oxymoron (an apparent contradiction). To properly understand life, one must properly understand the nature and characteristics God! This is not to insinuate that we finite creatures can wrap our minds around the infinite God! However, God gave the Israelites the law through Moses, sent His prophets to instruct, correct, and direct His people, imparted the wisdom of Solomon, gave us the inspiration of the Psalms, became a man and made Himself known to us in the person of Jesus Christ. He has given us the epistles (letters) of the apostles, the history of the early Church (Acts), and has told us how the story ends (Revelation). In His Word we learn His nature and Character. By His Holy Spirit we have divine inspiration, revelation, and illumination. Our lives were created for so much more than a simple passing through or a consumption of time and resources. Time and resources are divine gifts that have been imparted to each of us. We MUST stop and consider how we are living. For ourselves or for His created purpose? Consider how you are living today, open up His instruction manual, yield yourself to Jesus Christ, and allow His Holy Spirit to conform you to Himself. Then you will come to life!! Then you will understand its intended purpose and eternity will come into focus. This life is too short not to!! Curtis R. Norris
