“If you are insulted and reviled for [bearing] the name of Christ, you are blessed [happy, with life-joy and comfort in God’s salvation regardless of your circumstances], because the Spirit of glory and of God is resting on you [and indwelling you--He whom they curse, you glorify].” 1 PETER 4:14 AMP
It is the highest honor to be insulted for belonging to Jesus and sharing Him with others! There is no other service, in all of creation, that is as honorable. We should count it an absolute privilege to be ridiculed, reviled, or insulted for our faith in Jesus!! In Matthew 5:10-12, Jesus said this: “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” KJV Our lives are created to glorify Him!!! We aren't here to live for self. In all we do (practically, verbally, socially, politically, etc.) we are to seek to see through His eyes, hear with His ears, think with His mind, and act with His heart! We don't leave Jesus sitting on the bench at church when we walk out the door. We don't exclude Him from certain things we do. We must allow our lives to be lived under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In everything we do, Jesus should be the nucleus (center) of our affection and attention. Let us seek to lift Him up in all of our daily living. "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17 KJV Are you unashamed of the Lord Jesus? Paul said this in Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16 KJV Jesus stated it like this: ““Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:32-33 NLT No matter where we are, who we are around, or what the circumstances may be, we MUST proclaim Jesus without apology!! Let's not fear man, let's honor God!
