“The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers.” Psalms 37:21 NLT
Have you ever loaned someone money only to never see it again? This can make you become callous and cold toward others and their needs. However, we must stop to remember how many times God has blessed us with so many things that we squandered upon our own selfish pursuits. All of us have taken advantage of our Father in Heaven yet, in His kindness, He keeps on giving. Like the Energizer Bunny, He just keeps on giving and giving and giving... We would do well to remember His grace and extend that same grace to our fellow man. God sees what we give and why! Our ultimate desire should be to emulate His likeness in all matters of conduct. We cannot allow the behavior of others, or even ourselves, to diminish the grace that God calls us to display. Now, I'm not talking about hand outs to the lazy, the irresponsible, or those who think it's their entitlement! What I am speaking of is the liberality that should accompany the child of God as He calls upon us, by His Holy Spirit, to demonstrate. Leave the consequences to God, both for you and the recipient. He will reward you accordingly! The eternal weight of glory far exceeds anything that this current world can give anyway. Perhaps you are the recipient (we all are -in reality). Honor God with your behavior. Thank Him for His gracious provision. Learn the principles of stewardship and pass the baton along to someone else. Let's not forget that God is the greatest philanthropist that ever will be. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NLT How many wicked men have scoffed at this truth and yet God has graciously extended His offer! Let's act like Jesus!
