“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?” James 2:14-16 NLT
What good is the faith we profess if it doesn't translate into action. Words are cheap! Many have made promises that weren't kept. Grand intentions have often flooded our minds and hearts that were never acted upon. One kind deed is better than a thousand grand intentions. Others watch what we do more than they listen to what we say. Let's not just sit, soak, and sour on a church pew. Let's engage the world with our faith. Loving Jesus doesn't stop at the church exit door, it begins. We attend church to worship corporately, receive instruction, fellowship with other believers, and prepare for evangelism. We leave the church to serve our fellow man. Without question, faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ is what redeems (saves) us!!! The issue here is simply this: true faith spurs us on to action. If we belong to Christ we will practice our faith, not just profess it. Medicine is no good if it isn't prescribed and taken. Cures for diseases are no good if they sit on a shelf or in a refrigerator. Today, let's show the world our faith in Christ Jesus by our actions. “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16 NLT
