“Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory. Interlude”
Psalm 24:7-10 NLT The "King of glory" is used five times in this passage of scripture. This is a reference to Almighty God! Notice the capital "K" in the word "King". The word "glory" is a reference to the grandest and most glorious being and can also be applied in the sense of the heavenly beings (angelic hosts) and heavenly bodies (creation). God is the King of glory!!! Something that deserves our full recognition here is this: Jesus is the King of glory! God revealed Himself to us in Christ! “After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began. “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word.” John 17:1-6 NLT Jesus revealed the Father to us! He manifested the glory of God to humanity in His physical being. Jesus was, is, and always will be equal with God, as God! Pay special attention to the word "shared" in the verses above. Jesus has always been One with God! He is so much more than a prophet. He is so much more than a man or some great teacher. He is the Lord of Heavens Armies!!! Look at this: “Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.” Revelation 19:11-16 NLT Without question, this is Jesus! Here, the armies of heaven follow Him. Here, He is called "King of kings and Lord of lords."In Matthew 17 Jesus is transfigured before Peter, James, and John. Jesus exposed His glory to these men. Jesus is the manifest glory of God in human form. Take a look at this: “The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.” Hebrews 1:3 NLT If Jesus is your Lord, then the King of glory lives within you. If not, will you let the King of glory in? Swing wide the gate and let Him have custody of your life, not just visitation rights. Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, fill my life with Your Holy Spirit. Open up the gate of my life and take full custody of all that I am.
