You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.”
1 Peter 2:4-5 NLT Jesus is the cornerstone!“Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.” Ephesians 2:20 NLT A cornerstone is the first and most important part of a building. By it all things are measured and plumbed (checked to be right, exact, precise). Our lives are measured and made straight in Him. We are, by God's merciful choosing, allowed to be a part of this building. "For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:9 NLT Our lives, as God's temple, are to be lived in such a manner as to glorify and represent our Lord. “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT Our lives belong to Him. Our behavior, in every way, should present Him to this world. Let's allow Him, by our submission and obedience, to build our lives as His own dwelling. Let's allow Him to live in, and through, us.
