God's Very Own Possession

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We are God's family. He has adopted us from the orphanage that Satan had us living in and He has given us His name. We now call Him "Papa". The Aramaic word is "Abba". It means "Papa, Father, Daddy". We can actually call God our Daddy. He loves us! “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We are His own choosing. We are specifically chosen by Him. “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We are "royal priests", a "holy nation", God's "peculiar" (special possession) people. He has called us out of a life of darkness and into the light. We are to radiate His light to the world around us by the life we live. Aren't you glad that God took your sinful life and transformed it into something beautiful and radiant? If so, shine for Jesus!
