“Save me, O God, for the floodwaters are up to my neck. Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; I can’t find a foothold. I am in deep water, and the floods overwhelm me. I am exhausted from crying for help; my throat is parched. My eyes are swollen with weeping, waiting for my God to help me.” Psalms 69:1-3 NLT
Are you there? Are you in a place of deep trouble? Are you discouraged or depressed? Do you feel like the ground beneath you is like quick sand? Are you trying hard, yet the problem is worsening? Have you become worn out from crying for help? Are you thirsting for a time of refreshing? Have you poured out your soul in tears and do your eyes puff with the swelling? Life is hard and unfair sometimes. We long for rest. We are desperate for rescue. If only we could get a foothold, we think. When life is unfair, God is good! When life is scary, God is good! When life changes, God is good! When life is sad, God is good! Our hope is in God! He is the only One who understands and can help us through this maze of life. He will grant us seasons of respite when we need them most. So often, when things are challenging, we lose our perspective and we become disoriented and disillusioned. In those times it is easy to lose sight of the goodness of God! Today, let us not forget in the darkness what God has revealed in His light! May we never forget the good that He has done for us. After all, He has paid for our sin and offers us the lifeline of salvation through Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord! God has made a way for us to know His goodness! He took our punishment upon Himself so we could know how GOOD He is!!! God is good!!! Let's never forget that!!
