"Father to the fatherless, defender of widows— this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” Psalms 68:5-6 NLT
God is a compassionate Father. He cares for the fatherless, the lonely, and the weak. Are you one of those today? If so, let God draw close to you and embrace you in His loving bosom. His heart is close to those who are crushed in spirit. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalms 34:18 NLT God is watching our lives. He concerns Himself, especially, with the widows and orphans. “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” James 1:27 NLT In the greatest sermon ever preached (The Sermon On The Mount - Jesus - Matthew Chapters 5-7) Jesus makes this statement: “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12 NLT Treat others as if you were them! Consider the plight of other people, not just your own. You aren't any better than the next person. We are all a bunch of dysfunctional misfits who need Jesus. But for His grace, we would all be headed for a devils hell! Live by these words today: “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” Matthew 25:34-40 NLT
