“Hear me as I pray, O Lord. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “ Lord, I am coming.”
Psalms 27:7-8 NLT Do you pray? How often do you commune with God in prayer? What a divine privilege, to have conversation with the very God who made us. He awaits our time together. How extraordinarily patient He is with us. We bounce about our daily business with so little regard for His presence and His desire to interact with us. Do you ever long to hear from someone that is near and dear to your heart but it seems that they have forgotten you, even when you are around them? Imagine how God feels when we go about our lives and, seemingly never, acknowledge Him or call on Him. If only we knew the richness of spending time in His presence. If only we fully understood the vast wisdom and knowledge that He could impart to us while we dine at His table. He has prepared food for our spirit, soul, and body. What a shame to be so spiritually malnourished. The healing we need for our anxieties lies within His care. “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NLT The release from bitterness can only be found in His power. (see Ephesians 4:31-32 and Hebrews 12:15). The salvation we so need is in His arms. Only in His mighty hand is there deliverance from sin. (see Acts 4:12). The rest for our weary souls can only be experienced in Him. (see Matthew 11:28-30). Are you walking through a desert? Come to the oasis. There is water for your dry and patched soul. Come and drink. “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” Isaiah 55:1-3 NLT
