“The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!” Psalms 103:6-18 NLT
God is eternally just! He is aware of the plight of all people. His character is such that He is moved with compassion toward those who are unjustly treated. He has made Himself known to Moses and the children of Israel as well as to all who revere Him! Although we have sinned against Him, He is yet merciful and compassionate toward us. His patience has allowed us to live. He is better to us than we deserve. If He treated us according to our transgressions we would all be doomed to hell. Thank God that He has, in His mercy and grace, removed the sins of His repentant children as far as the east is from the west. This can be interpreted as infinity, never to be retrieved. God chooses not to ever recall our past sins that are forgiven! What an absolute relief! God knows our human condition. He looks upon us in tender compassion. This compassion is what has brought us redemption. He loves us and wants us to be reunited with Him. He knows the shortness of our mortal lives. There is hope. His love is extended forever to those who fear Him and obey Him! His salvation is available and accessible. For those who choose Him, and submit themselves to Him, even their children and grandchildren have God’s generational blessings bestowed upon them. I choose Jesus! I choose life! I choose blessing rather than cursing! I am most honored to know Him and serve Him! May His blessing come upon my family throughout the generations!
