“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:9-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God made us to share life with others. Jesus said that when two or three come together in His name He will manifest Himself among them (see Matthew 18:20). There is something about getting together that pleases God. We aren't meant to be secluded and alone. In Genesis 2:18 God said that it wasn't good for Adam to be alone so He made Eve and brought her to him (vs.18-22). God made us to be social creatures. We need one another.

Have you ever been in need and had to call on a friend to assist? I have. I believe we all have. What a terrible and most difficult thing it would be to have need of help and no one to call on. Are you a godly, dependable friend to those around you? You see, there's a mystery that unveils itself when we are other minded. When we serve others, we experience the very character of Almighty God. It pleases Him. What good is a home without someone to share it? What good is a car without someone to ride in it with you? What good is a dinner table without someone to eat with? Marriage itself cannot be complete without a man and a woman. What is even greater is when we allow Jesus to be the central person that every relationship is built around. That makes three instead of two. Two strands of string are strong but three strands wound together make the strands exponentially stronger. Share life today with others but don't forget to let Jesus be the one who is at the center. He is the One who fortifies relationships.

Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, help me to move out of my seclusion into the lives of others.
