“But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will judge everyone according to what they have done. He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers. But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:5-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is love, but let us not forget that God is also just (righteous in all He does). Because He is just, He cannot allow unrepentant sin to go unpunished. For those who have accepted His Son Jesus as their Lord and Savior, God's wrath toward sin has been appeased. For those who have rejected His Son, judgment yet abides. John 3:36 makes this clear. “And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” NLT‬‬

John 3:18 says ““There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” NLT‬‬

Because of God's love, we have a way to be saved from this looming judgment. Should we choose to ignore or reject this offer, our fate is sealed. Just as oil and water don't mix, God and sin don't either. Never mistake God's kindness for His approval of sin. Sin is a terminal illness that doesn't give us a time of death. The only remedy is the love of God in Christ Jesus. The choice is ours.

Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, I ask that you search me and know my heart. Try me and know my mind. See if there is any wickedness in me and purge me through the blood of the only begotten Son of God!
