“But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.” ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Paul was admonishing (warning, reprimanding, urging) the Colossian believers not to turn away from the truth of who Jesus is and what He had accomplished. Jesus, God in human flesh, had come to the world He created, lived a sinless life, shed His innocent blood, and gave His life on the cross to redeem us from sin and its curse. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬  This was the nucleus of the the gospel message. Without this truth, the gospel would be lifeless, null, and void. There is no gospel message apart from the real Jesus. He was not a man who achieved godhood, nor was He simply a prophet of God. He was God incarnate (in flesh)!!! The word "Immanuel" (found in Isaiah 7:14; 8:8 and Matthew 1:23) means "God with us". God, in Christ, had come to fulfill the requirements of the law and to give us freedom from sin and its curse. He ratified a new covenant between God and man. “For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭NLT Only Jesus has lived the perfect life! Only Jesus is qualified to be the All Sufficient Savior! This new covenant is all about Christ Jesus our Lord. We CANNOT add one thing to it or take away one thing from it. Christ and Christ ALONE!!!This is the revelation of God to the world. Let us preach this from the top of our lungs, shout it from the rooftops, and die for its truth! Jesus Saves! Jesus Saves! Without Him, there is no gospel!!!!!!!
