“For God had promised, “I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins. But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. (This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes; he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.) She was told, “Your older son will serve your younger son.” In the words of the Scriptures, “I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau.” Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not! For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.”
Romans 9:9-16 NLT The sovereignty of Almighty God is something that our finite minds cannot grasp in it's entirety. To understand the reasons God decides to do what he does is beyond our comprehension. We must trust our Heavenly Father. He is Omniscient (all knowing). He is Omnipotent (all powerful). He is Omnipresent (everywhere at all times). We are simply incapable of dissecting the methodology of God. We must trust Him. He is Lord of lords and King of kings. He sees things in their fullness and we see things in part. I don't know about you but I certainly prefer someone who knows the whole story verses someone who knows only part of it. Through the centuries men have concocted their own understandings of Gods Sovereign power and how He demonstrates it in the lives of humanity. Arguments have insisted through the years over predestination, foreknowledge, and God's Sovereignty. Let us simply know this: God is God. We are not. He rules over all of creation. He is immutable (cannot change). God has always been right and always will be. Trusting Him is the best way to live our lives.
