“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.”
Romans 8:15-17 NLT God is "Daddy" or "Papa"to the one who is now adopted into His family by new birth in Jesus Christ. What a privilege! As a result of our adoption, we are now given an inheritance. We are God's royal family (see I Peter 2:9). Eternal splendor in His presence and the blessed honor of subduing the earth as He originally intended are already ours through relationship with Jesus. One thing we must remember: we are still here in this sin cursed world and, correspondingly, we will suffer as followers of Jesus! 2 Timothy 3:12 says “Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” Let's keep our eyes on Jesus and the glory that awaits!! Look up, child of God!!
