Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. Colossians 1:18 NLT
Jesus is Lord of the Church, His body (see also Ephesians 4:15; 5:23). The church is all born again believers of the past, present, and future! The church is not a denomination! You can't join it, you have to be born into it (spiritual birth through Jesus Christ). Some may have the misconception that they are "Christians" because they attend a congregational meeting and have united with them in a verbal covenant. I'm not against commitment to a local body of believers once one has been born again, but one must be born again to see and enter the kingdom of God (see John 3:1-7). I believe every child of God needs to be connected to a local family of God and needs a place to belong in worship, fellowship, and instruction. However, one can only enter the kingdom through Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Those who are the born again believers are the body of Jesus Christ, the Church. He is the Supreme Lord, Shepherd, and Priest of the Church. We are united in Christ and Christ alone. In Him we live! In Him we live again in resurrection!! He is The Resurrection!!! He has power over death because He is Life!!! In Him we live, move, and have our being! For in him we live, and move, and have our being;...." Acts 17:28 KJV. Jesus is Lord of everything!!!!!!!
