“Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.”
Romans 6:12-14 NLT How many people have used the reality of God's grace to condone their sinful practices? Far too many! Grace is often used as a license to do as someone pleases without the conviction of the price that was paid to give us this grace. Grace is defined as "unmerited favor". We cannot achieve it. We must receive it. It is a gift from Almighty God! How we respond to this amazing gift indicates our understanding and value of it. Grace was given to free us from the power of sin, not to give us license to commit sin. Let me site an example: A man has a faithful, kind, and gracious wife that loves him unconditionally. Does that give him the right to commit adultery and have multiple relationships with other women? Of course not. Her love is not a permission slip for him to do as he pleases, rather it is, and should be, a motivating factor for his loving, faithful response. How have you taken advantage of God's Amazing Grace?
