“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Isn't it awesome to be a part of God's family. We are adopted by Jesus into this royal inheritance. The simple thought of this is overwhelming!! The reality of it is completely satisfying. The comfort, joy, and confidence it brings to living is indescribable. John Newton, the author of the song "Amazing Grace", nailed it when he penned "Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I'm found. Was blind but now I see". In case you didn't already know, John Newton was a slave runner that took slaves in Africa, piled them in a ship, like cargo, and brought them to the United Kingdom. Often, some of the slaves would, because of the living conditions, contract illness and die before their delivery. He was a wretch of a man. Somehow, the gospel of Jesus reached this wretched man. He miraculously became a follower of Jesus and, as a corresponding result, threw down his liquor, quit the slave trade, and became a pastor. His preaching and writing of Hymns reached the ears of many, including a man named William Wiberforce, a politician who served in the British Parliament. He wanted to leave politics to become a minister, but was encouraged by Pastor John Newton, to serve God in the Parliament. In 1807, after years of toil, the worn and exhausted Wilberforce, along with an aged John Newton, got to see the passage of the law that abolished slavery in Great Britain. Both Newton and Wilberforce were transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
No wonder he could write such a song that, perhaps, is the premier song of the faith around the world.
God's grace is AMAZING!!!!!!!
