“As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 NLT
God, in His kindness, brought salvation to us even when we didn't deserve it. Quoting from Isaiah 49:8 Paul states the fact that God heard our cry and responded to our need for deliverance. He has saved us by His mercy and grace and allowed us to become partners in His kingdom work. Let us not forget what He has done. Indeed, let us recognize the urgency of the time. We do not have time to sit around and gloat in our own comfort and complacency in our salvation. To the contrary, we must realize the awful fate of those who are lost. This should motivate us to rise up in work for the cause of Christ. We do not have time to negotiate at the table of the enemy, meander in mediocrity, pander to popular opinion, or sit in the seat of scorn. We must stand up, be alert, and eager to obey the call of the gospel. Men's souls await. Let the church of the Lord Jesus Christ rise up in unity for the gospels sake. Time is not on our side. We only have one brief life to prepare for eternity. May we herald the message of Jesus to the world! It is our only hope. Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, help me to never lose focus and perspective. May Your purpose be accomplished in my life. I am Your child and under Your authority. Use me to serve in Your family, the church, to fulfill Your will.
