“For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under his authority.” (Of course, when it says “all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.) Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.” 1 Corinthians 15:27-28 NLT
Quoting from Psalm 8:6, the Apostle Paul states that Jesus has been given all authority. Distinguishing the difference between the humanity and divinity of Jesus can help us with the application of this verse. The "man" (human) Jesus was given all power by the divine (God). Matthew 28:18 says this: “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” NLT Jesus was the physical, visible representation of the invisible, unseen Spirit God. John 4:24 says it this way: “For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”” NLT As a human, Jesus was, and is, the tangible, visible authority of God. God has given us His Son to redeem us from the power and penalty of sin. One day, all of creation will be in submission to God through Jesus Christ His Son our Lord! Jesus is the designated authority of God Himself. There is no higher power!!! Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, I submit myself to your authority. Thank you for breaking the power of sin in my life. I trust fully in the person and power of Jesus, Your Son, our Lord. Fill me with the Holy Spirit so I can live under Your authority all the days of my life.
