“Let two or three people prophesy, and let the others evaluate what is said. But if someone is prophesying and another person receives a revelation from the Lord, the one who is speaking must stop. In this way, all who prophesy will have a turn to speak, one after the other, so that everyone will learn and be encouraged. Remember that people who prophesy are in control of their spirit and can take turns. For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.” 1 Corinthians 14:29-33 NLT
No matter what gifts the Holy Spirit determines to use in the church we must be sensitive to His lead. He will always do things in order and for the benefit of the entire body (church). One key thing to remember is that we are responsible for sensing His direction. We are in control of our spirit and the Holy Spirit expects us to use discernment about how our actions are affecting the whole. He desires to bring benefit to the church through us as His vessels. Let's be discerning and obedient so we can advance the cause of Christ without confusion. It is God that we are representing. He is holy! Let us seek to honor Him in the church in the most appropriate fashion. When we are in tune with the Holy Spirit, and submissive to His direction, we will always be a blessing to the body of Christ and the Lord Jesus will be exalted. Prayer for today: Father, in Jesus name, please help me to be in tune with your Spirit and do exactly what will be honoring to you. Help me to be an asset to the body of Christ.
